Betty J. DeLong, 90, of Myerstown, died on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born on Tuesday, July 06, 1926 to Lloyd Stump and Mary Moore nee Strausbaugh in Biglerville, PA. She worked as a Registered nurse and was an active member of her church where she served on the church council. She was a member of the Heidelberg Township Lioness Club and a Melvin Jones Fellow. She was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program(RSVP). She worked part-time at the Good Samaritan Hospital from 1950-1972. She was a 1943 graduate of the Wiliam Penn High School, York, PA; 1947 graduate York Hospital School of Nursing; and was the Sight Nurse for the Lebanon County Lion's Sight Conservation Committee from 1972-1997.
Surviving are husband Paul T. DeLong, Myerstown; sons Paul T. DeLong, Jr., Lebanon, Michael A. spouse of Susan DeLong, Lebanon; daughter Kay L. Weitzel and companion James Ray, Hummelstown; grandchildren Nathan DeLong, Kaitlyn DeLong, Tasia Ray, Sabrina Ray; great grandchild Easton DeLong. She was preceded in death by adopted parents William and Mabel Wolf; grandchild Jason DeLong; brothers Richard Stump Wolf and Edward Stump Wolf.
Viewing will be on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 12:00 PM at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Main Street, Schaefferstown, with viewing at 11:00AM.
Burial will be at Schaefferstown Cemetery, Schaefferstown, following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lukes Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 278, Schaefferstown, PA 17088.
