Betty Gernert

Betty J. Gernert, 87, of Lebanon, died on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at her home.
She was born on Friday, December 31, 1926 to the late Herman Hoke and Fannie S. Hoke nee Kreiser in Quentin. She was the previous owner/operator of Gernert's Market with her husband. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family immensely. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. She enjoyed word search books and jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving are children Anthony E. spouse of Carole Gernert, Maple Grove, MN, Claudeen F. Nguyen, Quentin, Steven G. spouse of Bea Gernert, Mifflin, PA, Lori A. Gernert, Lebanon; grandchildren Justin V. Nguyen, Joshua A. Gernert; brother George W. Hoke, Lebanon; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by husband Eugene G. Gernert; siblings Dorothy L. Fauser, Alverta D. White, Elsie Kless, Herman A. Hoke, Louella G. Diffenderfer, Ammon C. Hoke, Lorraine M. Gernert, Jean V. Blair, Robert "Gary" Hoke.
Viewing will be on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, following the service.
