Charles Wise

Charles R. "Charlie" Wise, 95, of Lebanon, died on Monday, March 20, 2017 at VA Medical Center.
He was born on Thursday, September 08, 1921 to the late Claude Wise and Alice Wise nee Lux in Lebanon. He was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church and worked as a tool and die maker for Bethlehem Steel.  He was a veteran of the Navy in World War II on the USS LCS.  Charlie was in Iwo Jima, Okinawa and the Philippines. He was a member of the Men of Salem, Northside Civic League and the VFW Post #23.
Surviving are son Phillip L. spouse of Susan Wise; grandchildren Eric spouse of Deborah Wise, Benjamin spouse of Kathryn Wise, Emily spouse of Patrick Fahy; great grandchildren Carlton Wise, Miranda Wise, Elizabeth Wise, Jacoby Mahoney; companion Joan Hylton. He was preceded in death by wife Phyllis Wise nee Smith; daughter Susan Ann Wise; son Charles Wise, Jr.; brother Claude R. Wise, Jr.; sister Jessie Wolfe.
Viewing will be on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
