Clarence E. "Ed" Warren, Jr., 82, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Spang Crest Manor.

He was born on Thursday, December 25, 1930 to the late Clarence Warren, Sr. and Beulah Page-Warren in Printer, WV. He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy, where he spent 14 years of his service aboard submarines, including the USS Skate, the Navy''s third nuclear powered sub when it navigated on two occasions under the arctic ice pack at the North Pole. During the Korean War, Clarence served aboard the submarine USS Pomodon. He was also a graduate of the Navy''s nuclear power school at New London, Conn. He enjoyed working as a skilled mechanic, studying history, watching sports and spending time with his beloved pet, Maizi. Clarence was a member of the VFW Post #23 in Lebanon, and belonged to the FRA (Fleet Reserve Association.)

Surviving are Wife Marie Grueso-Warren; Daughters Kim, spouse of Robert Martin, and Pamela, spouse of Stephen Sherry; Brother Gary Karnes; 2 nieces; 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by brother Paul Warren.

Viewing will be on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Christman''s Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with viewing starting at 9:00 AM.

In leiu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067.
