Craig E. Shutter died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at his home.
He was born on March 5, 1939, the son of the late George & Doris Shutter nee Hostetter of West Lebanon. He was preceded in death by a brother Carl Shutter. Craig was the loving husband of Louise M. Shutter nee Clews. They celebrated 55 years of marriage on March 17, St. Patrick's Day.Other survivors include 2 lovely daughters, Robin Louise Searle (Jay) of Wyomissing and Jennifer S. Stutzman (Richard) of Lebanon, 3 adored grandchildren, Jason Luke Searle, Ava Louise Stutzman and Lila Margaret Stutzman, also numerous nieces and nephews.Craig was a 1957 graduate of Lebanon High School. He went to work for Heagy Elec. of Fontana and Peiffer Electric Co. of Lebanon for a few years. In March 1975, he began work at P.R.L. Industries of Cornwall as an electrician/maintenance supervisor until he retired in 2006. (Evidence of his "artwork" can still be seen on PRL property!) 2 weeks of retirement was enough for him so he worked at Cornwell Doors of Lebanon for 2 years in maintenance and then retired again! Craig was always an active man and a helpful friend and neighbor. Through the years, after many snowstorms, he could be seen in the neighborhood with his snowblower and shovel, clearing the parking areas, garages and sidewalks. He was a "Jack of all trades," working on many different projects. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church of Lebanon. Craig was a very loving and caring husband, father and grammy (pa). He was an avid roller skater at the Casino Rink until it burned, he then went to Mt. Gretna rink on Saturday nights until recently. Louise called him "Rubber Legs"! He loved chocolate and Shuey's Pretzels and Moxie. He will be remembered for his good humor, dumb jokes and shenanigans and loving hugs. How do you sum up a man's life in a few paragraphs? He will be terribly missed!
