Doris Boyer

Doris M. Boyer, 80, of Hershey, PA passed away on March 4th, 2017. She was a caring and compassionate, mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend. Doris was a Registered Nurse and spent most of her life caring for people around the world as she traveled with her late husband, Mervin F. Boyer, Jr., with whom she shared a special love and eternal marriage that deeply influenced her family and all that knew them. She loved music and started playing the piano and organ as a teenager in church. Doris was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she used her musical talents in many ways in the various counties in which she lived. She was an avid genealogist, researching her family back several generations, and she previously volunteered at the LDS History Center in Lancaster and Harrisburg. She is survived by her son, Mervin F. , III, her daughter, Michelle E., 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, as well as her brothers Thomas J. Kohr of Lebanon and Frank B. Kohr of Boston, MA. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Union Deposit Road. Burial will be at Ebenezer Greenwood Cemetery, Lebanon Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Christman’s Funeral Home, Lebanon and from 10:30 to 11am in the church.
