Dorothy A. "Dot" Shirk, 91, of Annville, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at her home.
She was born on Friday, November 21, 1919 to the late Ralph Sands and Mabel Sands nee Shanaman in Lebanon.
She was a an active member of Zion "Goshert''s" United Church of Christ, including president of the Ladies Auxiliary
and Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed gardening and shopping. Dorothy was also devoted to her family and
knew everyone''s birthday.
Surviving are sons Ronald P. spouse of Bonnie Shirk, Lebanon, Neil K. spouse of Julie Shirk, Boyertown; daughters
Janet D. spouse of Joseph Heiser, Schaefferstown, Sharon spouse of Carl Jagnow, Lebanon; 14 grandchildren; 24
great grandchildren; sister Arlene Balsbaugh, Lititz. She was preceded in death by husband H. Paul Shirk; sisters
Ethel Sands, Mildred Houtz, Ruth Sands; brother Chester Sands.
Viewing will be on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Zion "Goshert''s" United Church of Christ,
1588 Mt. Zion Road, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the church.
Burial will be at Zion "Goshert''s" UCC Cemetery, Lebanon, following the service.
