It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth A. "Betty" Burke, who left this world on March 20, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on October 20, 1932, in Ashland, PA, to the late Joseph and Mary Brennan (McLain), Elizabeth spent her life dedicated to her family. Elizabeth was a proud resident of Shenandoah, PA, where she forged lasting memories with her beloved family. She is survived by her daughters Patricia C. Barrett and spouse Jerry Barrett, Ann M. Burke and fiance Ben; and her son James P. Burke. Additionally, she leaves behind a legacy of love in her  grandchildren: Michael "Jay" Burke and companion Becky, Nicholas Barrett, Alyssa Vaitl and spouse Gregory, Michael Burke and fiance Megan, Joseph Burke, and Gabriel Burke, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jayden, Scarlett, and Isaiah. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Lisa Link. She was preceded in death by husband Victor Burke; sons Michael Burke and Joseph "Butch" Burke. Throughout her life, Elizabeth was an active member of numerous organizations, including the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Annunciation BVM Catholic Daughters, the Irish Colleens, the ILGW Union, and the Quarterback Club. She had a passion for sewing, cooking, swimming, and traveling, and she was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils, as well as an enthusiastic shopper at Boscov's. Services will be private. Elizabeth will be remembered for her warmth, her love for her family, and her unwavering spirit. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
