Eugene Moore

Eugene M. Moore died peacefully at home after a brave battle with cancer on December 11, 2012.

He was born June 9, 1925 in Avon, PA., the youngest child of Harry and Bertha Moore. Eugene served his country in the US Army in Europe during World War II where he acheived the rank of Sergeant. After the war he returned home and worked at Hershey Foods. He then worked for 36 years at Ft. Indiantown Gap as a Quartermaster Supervisor. He was an active volunteer fireman for the Lickdale Fire Co., for which he served as Chief for over 20 years. He also served as an officer for Lebanon County FireChief''s Association. He was Deputy Fire Marshall for Lebanon County as well. He served as a deacon and elder at St. John''s UCC Church in Jonestown.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rachel J. Moore; their only son Eugene M. Moore, Jr and his wife (Kathleen) Sue of Hartly, DE; grandson Mark Moore and his wife Beth, Bridgeville, DE; granddaughter Marsha Kemp and her husband Kenneth, Fetton; 2 great grandchildren Morgan and Austin Kemp. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; 4 sisters.

Viewing will be on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00AM at Christman''s Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lickdale Fire Co., 3071 Rt. 72, Jonestown, PA 17038 or St. John''s UCC Church, 120 W. Market Street, Jonestown PA 17038.
