Ferne Folmer

Ferne Arlene Folmer nee Knoll, 92, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 18, 2013.

She was born on October 1, 1921 to the late Robert W. Knoll and Emmaline (Hartman) Knoll. She was the wife of the late Frederick J. Folmer who passed in December of 1985. She was preceded in death during childhood by an older sister Mildred and by adult siblings Janet Knoll and Robert W. Knoll, Jr. Ferne was a 1939 graduate of Lebanon High School.

Ferne is survived by sons Frederick R. Folmer, husband of Shirley J., Michael J. Folmer, husband of Sheila M., and Thomas E. Folmer, husband of Lauri Jo and daughter Janet L. Folmer wife of David A. Keener, all of the Lebanon area. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren to whom she was devoted. Ferne loved the Lord and was a good and faithful disciple of his earthly church, serving as choir member/director, pianist, Sunday School teacher and youth group leader. She was also very active in the Lebanon community in capacities ranging from Red Cross Gray Lady and Girl Scout troop leader in her younger years to Lebanon Senior Center Activity Director later in life. Older area residents might remember her for a Sunday morning sacred music program with her father on WLBR radio. Known as "Bob Knoll and his daughter Ferne," she accompanied him on piano and sang backing vocals. Ferne was retired from Sterling Pharmaceutical Company in Myerstown, PA having worked in quality control.

Viewing will be on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christman''s Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.

Funeral services will be on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville, following the service.
