Helen L. (Booher) Miller, 100 years, of Cornwall, passed quickly and peacefully after arriving at the Good Samaritan Hospital on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
Born August 12, 1921 in Mount Union, Huntington County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha Booher.
A registered nurse for more than 30 years, Helen trained at the Good Samaritan Hospital, served military veterans for over 25 years at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, and finished her long career at Cornwall Manor. Helen spent much of her retirement caring for her siblings, neighbors, and friends in their final months. She also enjoyed her children, grandchildren, friends, volunteering, playing golf, and traveling.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Miller, married on May 6, 1957. She is survived by her son, Neal Miller Black of Saint Paul, Minnesota; her daughter, Beth (Miller) Tabak of Sugar Land, Texas; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her warmth, humor, and compassion will be missed by those who spent time with her.
Helen’s funeral will be held at Christman’s Funeral Home, 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon: visitation at 10am, service at 11am on Thursday, May 5, 2022 with private interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
