Ida Rossi Allwein Pentony, age 92, formerly of Ocean View DE and Lebanon, PA passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Cornwall Manor.
She was born in Hershey, PA daughter of the late Francesco "Frank" and Rosa Gherardini Rossi. She is the last member of her immediate family. She was employed by the Hershey Chocolate Company before she married her first husband the late Andrew "Andy" Allwein. Ida and Andy were proprietors of the Silver Dollar Grill and the Lafayette Hotel in Lebanon. Ida was a AAA member for over 50 years. She published a cooking recipe in the Taste of Home magazine in 2002. Ida enjoyed planting flowers, collecting seashells, cooking and fishing for flounders at the Indian River Inlet with her second husband John Pentony, who has been deceased since 2008.
Ida will be dearly missed by her children; Peg Graybill and her husband Ron, Rose Sangrey and her husband Bob, Nancy Nebiker and her husband Brian, Mike Allwein and his wife Pat, Frank Allwein and Linda Pentony; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. A son Andrew Allwein, Jr., preceded her in death.
Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lebanon, at the convenience of the family.
