Irvin Gerber

Irvin L. Gerber, 81, of Lebanon, died on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at his home.

He was born on Saturday, April 02, 1932 to the late Elwood K. Gerber and Evelyn Gerber nee Kuhn in Mount Joy. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps in the Korean Conflict and attended East Donegal High School, graduated from Bob Jones University and Ohio University. He taught full-time for 44 years, a principal for 38 years and a substitute teacher. Irvin was a soccer coach for Lebanon Christian Academy, enjoyed writing stories, fishing, hunting and wood working. He was devoted to his wife and family.

Surviving are wife Nancy M. Gerber nee Bryant, Lebanon; children Wayne S. spouse of Teri Gerber, Huron, OH, Dennis I. spouse of Cheryl Gerber, Maken, GA, Gregory A. Gerber, Cincinnati, OH, Tina L. spouse of Paul Beiler, Fredericksburg, Terry L. spouse of Ray Albertson, South Mills, NC, Samuel E. spouse of Susan Gerber, Hertford, NC; 17 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers Christian Gerber, Lancaster, Charles Gerber, Millersville; sister Betty Woods, Lancaster.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Open Door Baptist Church, 875 Academy Drive, Lebanon.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the church.

Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
