John Heagy

John R. Heagy, 80, formerly of Chestnut Street, Lebanon, died on Friday, May 07, 2010 at Spang Crest Manor. He was born on Sunday, January 19, 1930 to the late George Heagy and Margaret Heagy nee Wolfe in Lebanon. He was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church He worked at the Lebanon VA Hospital for 35 years as a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant. He attended Lebanon High School. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II and was in the Medical Army Reserves in Harrisburg for 18 years. He was a member of the Lebanon Fire Police, Rescue Fire Co. #4, 5th Ward Athletic Club, Lebanon Senior Center and a life member of Annville American Legion. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, bowling, hunting, fishing, Phillies and Eagles. Surviving are wife of 59 years, Joan E. Heagy nee Eisenhauer, Lebanon; daughter Lois A. Heagy, Lebanon; sons John A. spouse of Thea Heagy, VA, Timothy G. spouse of Meg Heagy, Lebanon, Frederick A. Heagy, Dover, Scott D. spouse of Deb Heagy, Lebanon, Peter R. Heagy, Smithfield; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers George Jr. spouse of Josephine Heagy, Lebanon, James Heagy, MO, Roy Heagy, Lebanon; sisters Susan spouse of Sam Palevo, Lebanon, Frances spouse of Lonnie Klahr, MD. He was preceded in death by brothers Harvey Heagy, Robert Heagy, William Heagy, Thomas Heagy. Viewing will be on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church 53 Chestnut Street, Lebanon. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the the church. Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville, following the service.
