It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John L. "Jack" Martino, who left us peacefully on December 9, 2024, at the age of 92 at the VA Medical Center, Lebanon.
Born on July 16, 1932, in Kensington, Pennsylvania to the late Lawrence and Emma Martino (Frye), John lived a life rich in family, friendship, and creativity. A proud veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War, John enlisted on March 17, 1952, and served until his discharge on March 8, 1956, attaining the rank of USN U1. After his military service, he dedicated many years to his career as a pressman in the manufacturing industry, working for E.I. DuPont, where he was known for his commitment and strong work ethic. John's passions were as diverse as his life experiences.
He traveled to 48 states and developed a fervent love for Intarsia woodworking-a skill he honed over the years and shared generously with friends and loved ones. His beautiful creations were not just objects; they were tokens of love, often gifted to those he cherished.
Above all, John was a devoted family man, survived by his children, Lawrence and spouse Gail Martino, Michael and spouse Lori Martino, Donna and spouse Kevin Bixby, Steven and spouse Kim Martino; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife Muriel A. Martino (Press).
A Celebration of Life will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans- https://www.ihelpveterans.org/
