Kenneth Darkes

Kenneth W. "Ken" Darkes, 87, of Lebanon, died on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born on Thursday, October 25, 1928 to the late Wayne Darkes and Mary M. Darkes nee Houtz in Lebanon. He was a member of First Evangelical Congregational Church and retired from Hershey Foods after 41 years. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II for 3 years.  Ken enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, genealogy and puzzle books. He was also the treasurer of the church.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Mary Lou Darkes nee Herzog; sons Harold N. spouse of Sharon Darkes, Daniel L. spouse of Kathy Darkes; daughter Pamela J. spouse of Ricky Gibson; step-daughters Janet G. Coleman, Elaine C. spouse of Keith Roach; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother Wayne Darkes; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister Thelma Walmer.
Viewing will be on Tuesday, April 05, 2016 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 05, 2016 at 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
