L. Lorraine Bender, 93, of Palmyra, died on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Lebanon Valley Brethren Home.
She was born on May 05, 1921 to the late Walter Bush and Cora Bush nee Dormar in Keezletown, PA. She was a member of Lebanon Valley Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
Surviving are son Ronald Bender, Jonestown; daughters, Sharon Simmons, Myerstown, Gail Shifflett (Donald), Bloomsburg, and "adopted daughter", Linda Ambrust, Ebenezer; grandchildren, Steven Simmons (Natalie), Richland, Michelle Simmons Smith (Todd), Myerstown, Cheryl Simmons Major (Ralph), Jonestown, Krista Gearhart (Lee), Orangeville, Paige Shifflett, Bloomsburg, Rick Bender (Lois), Lusby, MD; Marla Bender Miller (Craig), Fredericksburg, Tricia Bender Adams (Rodney), Jonestown; great-grandchildren, Chad, Nickolus and Ashley Smith, Myerstown, Douglas Simmons, Richland, William and Katie Major, Jonestown, Justin and Brittany Miller, Fredericksburg and Karissa and Hayden Adams, Jonestown, Rylan Bender, Lusby, MD; step-great-grandchildren, Ryan Fox (Katie), Richland and Steven Smith (Samantha), Myerstown; 4 step great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Monroe Bender, grandchild, Chris Bender and daughter-in-law Bonnie Bender.
Viewing will be on Friday, January 02, 2015 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Lebanon Valley Brethren Home Chapel, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 02, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the chapel.
Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, following the service.
