Ralph E. Matticks, 85, of Lebanon, died on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at his home.

He was born on Saturday, March 21, 1925 to the late Harold Matticks and Jean Matticks nee Oliver in Pittsburgh. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the 517 Army Airborne serving as a medic in European African Middle Eastern Theatre during WWII and was a recipient of a Bronze Star. He obtained his BS in Forestry from Penn State University in 1950 and served with the USDA Soil Conservation Service, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed fishing in Canada, was a member of the Penn State alumni association and ATO Fraternity. Ralph was a Penn State football fan.

Surviving are wife Jean W. Matticks nee Williams, Lebanon; daughters Janice spouse of Timothy Mulac, Lebanon, Margaret Miller, Hershey; son Thomas spouse of Elaine Matticks, Clarion, PA; 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons; sister Jane Oliver, Imperial, PA.

Viewing will be on Friday, December 03, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christman''s Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.

Funeral services will be on Friday, December 03, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans Association, 6285 Pearl Road Suite #7, Parma Heights, OH 44130.
