Richard M. "Dick" Chernich, 85, of Cornwall, died on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Cornwall Manor.
He was born on Tuesday, August 23, 1927 to the late Michael R. Chernich and Ellen I. Chernich nee Netzley in
Cornwall. He was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He worked as a steelworker and was a
veteran of the Navy in World War II and Korean Conflict. He graduated from Cornwall High School and was a
member of Masonic Lodge #226 and American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, the Phillies and Hershey Hockey.
Surviving are brothers Gerald Chernich, Manheim, Daniel P. Chernich, Cornwall; sisters Gloria R. Ponessa,
Cornwall, Louise Mettley, Rexmont, Joanne Fiorentino, Cornwall, Carol Fiorentino, Cornwall, Barbara Jean Hartman,
Myerstown; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by wife Kathryn Chernich nee Noll.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
