Robert E. "Peck" Boyer, 81, of Lebanon, died on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born on Monday, April 04, 1932 to the late Elmer W. Boyer and Marion Boyer nee Mills in Lebanon. He was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Robert retired after 23 years of service in the US Army serving in Korea, Vietnam (2 tours) and Germany with a Purple Heart. After Army retirement he worked at Bethlehem Steel, Emergency Management Agency as director for 10 years, initiated several improvement projects in Lebanon County to include Hazel Dike after the flood of 1972, initiated evacuation plans and emergency procedures for 3 Mile Island in 1979 and initiated the building of current communication systems within Lebanon County. He retired in 1982. Robert worked for Indiantown Gap as Property Book Officer for Post from 1982-2001 until final retirement. He was a member of American Legion, VFW, D.A.V. He was a former member of Friendship Fire Co., S. Lebanon Township. Surviving are sons Larry E. spouse of Sally Boyer (with whom he resided), Lebanon, Robert W, spouse of Beverly Boyer, York; daughter Lori Ann Boyer, AZ; adopted daughter Rhonda Krall, Lebanon; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister Shirley spouse of Russell Swartzwelder, Lebanon; half brother Ronald spouse of Barbara Boyer, Lebanon; several other half brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews; buddies and sidekicks Misty and Bill. He was preceded in death by wife of 44 years Katharina Boyer nee Weller; brother Richard W. Boyer; half sister Jean Ebersole. Viewing will be on Thursday, December 05, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon. Services will be on Friday, December 06, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with viewing starting at 10:00AM. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
