Robert Deitzler

Robert J. "Bob" Deitzler, 91, of Lebanon, died on Tuesday, October 04, 2011 at VA Medical Center.

He was born on Monday, December 08, 1919 to the late Robert A. Deitzler and Irene Deitzler nee Benninghoff in
Lebanon. He was a 1936 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a Sgt in the 95th Infantry Division in WWII and
received a bronze medal with battle stars for Battle of the Buldge & Rhineland, combat infantry badge, good conduct
medal, European Campaign, WWII Victory medal and Army of Occupational Medal. Robert was a member of Mt.
Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM for 50 years, AARP and Lebanon Valley Senior Center. He retired from Quaker Alloy in
1982 and worked at Lebanon Steel Foundry. Prior to his illness, Robert enjoyed playing golf, fishing and
woodworking. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are daughter Andrea spouse of Jeffrey Dawson, Palmyra; son Phillip C. "Buzz" Deitzler, Lebanon;
daughters Beth E. spouse of David Santana, Lebanon, Dede E. "Marian" spouse of Jedd Erdman, Schaefferstown; 8
grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Harold Deitzler. He was preceded in death by wife Marian Deitzler
nee Hoke; son Michael R. Deitzler; 1 brother; 2 sisters.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 07, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Christman''s Funeral Home, Inc., 226
Cumberland Street, Lebanon.

Memorial services will be on Friday, October 07, 2011 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
