Rodney R. Kotay, 90, passed away at Cedar Haven on March 10, 2014. He was a first generation Serbian born in Lebanon on May 23, 1923, the son of the late Zarko and Danitza (Mirkov) Kotay.
He worked as a machinist and tool die maker for several local companies, including the Crescent Truck, Lebanon Steel Foundry, Lebanon Tool and Die Company, Bethlehem Steel and Hains Pattern Shop. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Lebanon and a member of R. Field and Stream and Lancaster Carvers Club. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, freshwater and saltwater fishing, wood carving, raising and racing homing pigeons, making Sunday steaks on the grill for the family, traveling and more. He never missed voting in a primary or general election.
He is survived by a loving and caring wife, Colleen M. (Glick) Kotay of 67 years; two sons, Michael R. and Thomas A. Kotay; two daughters-in-law RoseMarie (Risser) Kotay and Denise A. (Keath) Kotay; two grandchildren Jennifer Kotay and Jessica Bahler; one great grandchild Cecelia from Jessica and Andrew Bahler. He is also survived by two sisters Pearl Moeschlin and Lulu Kotay; one brother Milevoy. He was preceded in death by several siblings, Victor Kotay, Donald Kotay, Dorothy Phillips and Helen Heller.
Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family at the Glick family burial site at Zoar Lutheran Cemetery in Mt. Zion.
