Rufus Clay

Rufus C. Clay, 95, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Lebanon, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, October 04, 2011 at Pinnacle Health Hospital.
He was born on Wednesday, March 01, 1916 to the late Cloyd Clay and Annie Clay nee Kurtz in Berks Co., PA. He was a retired truck driver of 60+ years and was leased with Dunmoyer Trucking, Ono. Rufus was awarded the million mile safe driving award.
Surviving are son Gary Rufus L. Clay, Mechanicsburg; daughters Dolores spouse of Joe Gettle, Lebanon, Mabel spouse of the late Bill Stumpf, Lebanon; grandchildren Sharon Kauffman, Bethel, William Stumpf, Lebanon; friend who helped take care of Rufus; John W. Simmons, Mechanicsburg. He was preceded in death by wife Marion Clay.
Viewing will be on Monday, October 10, 2011 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Christman''s Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at St. John''s Church of Mt. Aetna, following the service.
