Sedgwick E. "Sedg" Kern, Jr., 91, of Lebanon, died on Friday, February 12, 2016 at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born on Monday, November 17, 1924 to the late Sedgwick E. Kern, Sr. and Annie Kern nee Stover in Hamlin. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and worked as a steelworker for Bethlehem Steel at Cornwall Mines. He was a veteran of the Army in World War II and was a member of the VFW and secretary/treasurer of Isaac Walton League, Lebanon Valley Coin Club and was in the Boy Scouts for over 50 years.
Surviving are grandchildren Jenelle Shank, Angela spouse of Matthew Yerger, Taylor Kern; great grandchildren Justice, Jada, Cameron, Mason; brothers Donald C. spouse of Romaine Kern, Robert spouse of Dolores Kern, Richard spouse of Phyllis Kern; nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law Judy Kern. He was preceded in death by wife Lillie Kern nee Boyer; son David C. Kern; sisters Myrl Cramer, Thelma Kalwaytis.
Viewing will be on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
