Verna J. Gerhart, 89, of 854 Stauffers Church Road, Palmyra, died on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
She was born on Thursday, August 12, 1920 to the late Henry Adams and Mamie Adams nee Kreiser in Jonestown. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. She was a farmer''s wife and a sunday school teacher.
Surviving are son Jacob S. Jr., spouse of Nancy Gerhart, Palmyra; stepdaughter Annabel spouse of Ray Wentling, TX; daughters Loretta spouse of Fred Baum, Roanke, VA, Cora spouse of August Memmi, Hershey; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother Leroy Adams, Jonestown; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Jacob S. Gerhart, Sr.; son Ray Gerhart; brother Eli Adams.
Viewing will be on Saturday, July 03, 2010 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Salem United Church of Christ, 2761 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 03, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the church.
Burial will be at Ono Cemetery, Ono, following the service.
