Viola Guerissi

Viola Ruthe Guerissi Bordner, Mackey, Potteiger, 81, formerly of 211 Northcrest Acres, Lebanon, died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Spang Crest Manor.

She was born February 16, 1928 to the late Wallace H. and Ella Mae Kohr Metz in Dauphin County. She attended First Baptist Church, Lebanon. She grew up in the Greenpoint area and lived in the Harrisburg area most of her life. She retired from Harrisburg Post Office as a supervisor of the truck terminal. She also worked as a buyer for Bargaintown USA and at the Republican Club as a waitress.

Surviving are daughter Lorraine M. Bordner of Lebanon; sons Melvin C. Bordner, Jr. of Lebanon, Michael E. Bordner of California, Richard L. Bordner of Fredericksburg, William A. Markey, Jr. of Lickdale; sisters Mary Varhola of Ohio, Nancy Thomas of Pennsylvania; brother Harry Metz of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandson Michael Leroy Bordner; twin brother Johnnie Metz, brothers Henry Metz, William Metz, Emory Metz; sisters Irene Markey, Mildred Snavely.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at 11AM at Christman''s Funeral Home, Inc. at 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.

Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Dauphin County.
