Walter E. "Windy" Winters, 89, of Myerstown, died on Tuesday, December 06, 2011 at VA Medical Center.
He was born on Thursday, February 02, 1922 to the late Paul Winters and Emma Winters nee Mease in Lebanon.
He worked as a shovel operator for Mallards Quarry for 40+ years. He was a veteran of the Army in World War II.
Walter was married for 71 years and retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1981. He was a member of the Annville
American Legion. He was involved with the retired Steelworkers Union and served as the trustee on the board. He
loved his dog Tulla.
Surviving are wife Arlene V. Winters nee Lehman, Myerstown; sons Ralph P. spouse of Ethel Hedricks Winters,
Myerstown, Ronald W. spouse of Linda D. Hummel Winters, Lebanon; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren;
brothers Robert Winters,
Earl Winters; sisters Grace Kissner, Pauline Longenecker, Anna Mae Hostetter, Christine Irwin. He was preceded in
death by daughter Linda Winters Freed; sister Joanne Smith.
Viewing will be on Monday, December 12, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christman''s Funeral Home, Inc., 226
Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville, following the service.
