William R. "Bill" Pouss, 66, of Cleona, passed away peacefully with loving family by his side at Hershey Medical Center, on October 24, 2015, following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
He was born on Sunday, October 23, 1949 to the late William G. Pouss and Elsie Pouss nee Pedersen in Cleveland, OH. He was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a veteran of the National Guard retiring as a Major. A beloved husband who was married for 42 years to Louise J. Pouss nee Johnson of Cleona and father. He graduated from Gettysburg College in 1971 and later at Dikinson School of Law in 1974. Bill was employed as an attorney for over 30 years with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, where he rose to the position of Chief Counsel before retiringin 2009. He was involved with Rotary of Lebanon, Rho Beta Fraternity at Gettysburg College, served on Church council, finance committee, stewardship, usher and was on the troop committe for Boy Scout #458 in Cleona. Bill enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, reading, all kinds of music, watching ice hockey games, and family road trips, especially to the Adirondack Mountains and the coast of Maine, where he loved to hike.
Surviving are in addition to his wife, daughters Melinda spouse of Daniel Marks, Hatboro, PA, Jennifer spouse of Andrew Bernstein, Sellersville, PA; Matthew spouse of Denise Pouss, Dillsburg, PA; grandchildren Andrew, Madelyn, Katelyn, Gwendolyn Marks, Lily Bernstein; sister Carol Pouss; aunts, uncle and cousins.
Viewing will be on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 119 N. 8th Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the church.
Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:30AM.
